Summer Intensive

Innate Ordering Processes, Symbols and the Objective Psyche:
An Intensive in Archetypal Pattern Analysis
August 14 - 17, 2008
Brattleboro, VT

Our world is richly alive with mysteries, forces, and energies of which we are but dimly aware.  Something is always calling us to it, inviting us to cross the various thresholds of understanding.  Indeed, humanity’s greatest quest has been to attune and re-attune our senses to better perceive these subtle cues.

Like many of the world’s wisdom traditions, Jung’s work on the primacy of the archetype, the inherent wisdom of the objective psyche, and its innate ordering processes helps to prepare us for a more fulfilling connection between science, spirituality, and psychology.  Now the new sciences of emergence shine fresh light on the importance of Jung’s discoveries about archetypes and the patterns they form.  Patterns reveal not only the deepest truths of the material world; they are also the eloquent language of psyche.

This four-day intensive program offers participants an in-depth experience in the field of Archetypal Pattern Analysis.  Building on C.G. Jung’s work on archetypes, and the fascinating discoveries from the new sciences on the emergence of form, and self- organization, our own work in Archetypal Pattern Analysis both captures and extends their innate beauty, elegance, and applicability in our lives.

As both personal and collective experience are shaped by the workings of archetypes and the patterns they create, this seminar presents an overview of the concepts that make up our core curriculum.  The Two Year Training Program leads to certification as an Archetypal Pattern Analyst, and our participants come from a wide range of creative and clinical fields including, psychotherapy, the arts, organizational consultation, and traditional and complimentary medicine. We have invited senior members of our faculty to present the seminal ideas behind this work, and we will explore such varied topics as:

  • Initial conditions and the generation of form
  • The Biofield –Healing and interventions to the field
  • The Objective Psyche -  Dreams, symbols, and translation of symbolic material
  • Archetypal Patterns
  • Archetypal Pattern Analysis: Applications in the Clinical, Organizational, Educational and Cinematic Domains

This seminar is open to all participants interested in learning more about the growing field of Archetypal Pattern Analysis, and it can be viewed as a primer for anyone interested in our Two Year Certificate Program.  Participants will see how this work found international acclaim in fields as diverse as psychotherapy, organizational consultation, educational reform, international peace efforts, and the film industry.  We welcome your interest, and hope you will take the opportunity to participate in this unique event.
