The past year has been an exciting
time for the Assisi Foundation! We have launched several new initiatives
that set the stage for our continued growth as a vital educational
center, dedicated to exploring the relationship between matter and
psyche and applying this unique perspective to the understanding
of social issues.Our accomplishments include:
· Publication of two volumes
in our Book Series: Yoram Kaufmann's The Way of the Image, and Psyche's
Banquet, a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Assisi Institute, with contributions by six of the senior faculty of
the Assisi program.
· Presentation of our first annual
Vision Award.
· Introduction of the Foundation's
community outreach efforts through our new e-newsletter,
"Notes from the Field."
NEW PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
Our programs for 2005 are organized
thematically around archetypal dimensions of war and peace. We are
scheduling various seminars, including one on "The Archetype of
Sacrifice" to be held October 28-30, in Portland, Oregon.
Plans are also underway for
our first annual Assisi Foundation fundraising banquet. For our
keynote speaker we are planning to invite Elie Wiesel, noted Holocaust
scholar and recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize for Peace. We hope
to also present him with our 2006 Vision Award.
We are also looking forward
to the debut, in early 2005, of our new web site, at www.theassisifoundation.org.
This site will provide up-to-date information on the Foundation's
ongoing programs and projects, as well as a variety of educational
materials related to the Assisi curriculum.
To realize our ambitious plans,
we are seeking financial contributions from individuals like you,
who support this pioneering work and share our commitment to the
