Teleseminar Series

The Presence of Psyche in Matter

Teleseminars for Clergy, Educators and Organizational Consultants

3-Week Teleseminar Series with Michael Conforti
Mondays, February 22, March 1 and 8, 2010

Matter is spirit moving slowly enough to be seen. - Teilhard de Chardin

Archetypes offer a contemporary experience of humanity's perennial wisdom traditions. This interior world of the psyche becomes understandable through the patterns it creates, and when these patterns are understood, our lives are enriched. This deep regard for and work with the archetypal underpinnings of life is the foundation of the field of Archetypal Pattern Analysis. Building on C.G. Jung's work on the archetypes and the objective psyche, and discoveries in the new sciences, we continue to advance our understanding of the workings of psyche in the world.

In these three special teleseminars, Dr. Michael Conforti will discuss the relevance and application of Archetypal Pattern Analysis in the fields of education, organizational consultation and the ministry. What ties these professions together is a deep and abiding interest in those energies that structure, motivate, and compel individuals and groups into action. Spirit moves lives, and the nature of that spirit when understood, can be transformative.

Archetypes in the Classroom

A Special Seminar for Educators

Monday, February 22, 2010

8 - 9 p.m. Eastern

Fee: $10

Imagination and the capacity to wonder are hallmarks of a great education. For many years, the Assisi Institute has worked to find ways to bring the power of archetypes, mythology and the world of the wisdom traditions into the classroom. From pre-school through adult education, students flourish in an environment where an appreciation for the bigger picture of life is cultivated.

In this seminar, we will discuss ways to help students develop an appreciation for and understanding of the workings of archetypes in the world - from the design of science curricula that open a child's eyes to the patterns that shape our lives, to mathematics and literature programs that introduce students to the eternal themes and universal motifs of humanity.

Archetypes and Sacred Texts

A Special Seminar for Clergy and Pastoral Counselors

Monday, March 1, 2010

8 - 9 p.m. Eastern

Fee: $10

Clergy tend to both the material and spiritual needs of their congregants. Marriage, parenting, illness, death, and other life transitions can be understood as expressions of the divine and can generate a deeply meaningful conversation.

Our life experiences are also experiences of the soul, and part of our task is to help individuals understand the movement of psyche as it traverses the life cycle. Each stage of life is a richly textured explication of a divine principle, which has been addressed by the "wise ones" since the beginning of time.

In this seminar, we will discuss ways to help clergy and pastoral counselors understand the intrinsic relationship between theology and Jungian psychology, and to see how our sacred principles are expressions of profound archetypal truths.

Archetypal Patterns in Organizations

Monday, March 8, 2010

8 - 9 p.m. Eastern

Fee: $10

Organizations are living systems which, much like the human psyche, are guided by forces that exist beyond consciousness. Their patterns are expressions of eternal motifs that have found expression in the modern world. Kings and queens, succession, expansion and contraction, and other universal themes are represented in the organizational domain, and when understood as such, can be addressed with a more meaningful approach.

In this seminar, we will discuss how discoveries in the new sciences and Jungian psychology provide a valuable lens for understanding the archetypal underpinnings of organizational life.
